This is a monster of a nib unit. The SH-4 nib is a Shadow nib. It is made in such a way as to pruduce two parallel lines; one thick, and one thin, to simulate a shadow. These nibs are most often used for calligraphy work. I did not even know until this nib came along that Sheaffer ever made such nibs for the Prelude pen. Although it has probably been used, it is still in excellent condition with no damage, and it writes very well indeed with the usual excellent wet and consistent Sheaffer line.
