CS1092 Conway Stewart Dinkie No. 5526. (Flexible Medium Oblique)
Date: c1920s
Size: Capped - 92mm, posted - 117mm.
A black chased ebonite No. 526 Dinkie pen from the late 1920s. It is in very good condition with some minor plating wear to the cap lip band and to the stem of the filling lever. The cap has a flat top with an upper gold filled band and a cap lip gold filled band. Both cap and barrel exhibit spiral machine engraving to the surface; the chasing on the cap is still quite crisp and strong, whereas on the barrel it is less obvious and shallower. The barrel imprint is still in nice easily readable condiiton. The cute little gold filled filling lever has the "CS" monogram imprinted in the circular end tab and has a very slender stem. The nib is shiny and undamaged and is in a rather unusual oblique point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib writes very smoothly and is also rather soft. I would rate this as flexible, and it will give you some excellent and almost effortless line width variation from a fine to a medium-broad.
