CS1100 Conway Stewart No. 84, boxed. (Double-Broad Stub)
Date: c1950s
Size: Capped - 119mm, posted - 143mm.
This is a very glossy bright burgundy marbled '84 with the gold veining inexcellent condition. I really can't see anything at all wrong with this pen and everything is bright and shiny. The cap and barrel both glossy with no noticeable scratches or other damage. The cap has a gold plated conical top button that holds on the gold plated washer-style pocket clip. This has a diamond cartouche at the top with the "CS" monogram inside and another diamond at the end of the clip. The single cap band is quite wide and also gold plated. The barrel imprint is nice and crisp, and easily read. The short and stubby gold filled filling lever has a diamond with the "CS" monogram on the small circular end tab. Whilst most of the pen is made from celluloid, the section is in black hard rubber. The shiny and undamaged nib is a made from 14 carat gold. It is in a very unusual and very broad stub point. The original box is stained on the outside with some minor edge and corner wear. Inside is the original instruction/guarantee sheet
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth when writing and produces a good wet and very broad width line. The square cut tip will provide some effortless and very attractive line width variation from a fine to a good generous broad width.
