CS1111 Conway Stewart No. 27 (Soft Medium)
Date: c1950s
Size: Length Capped - 132mm; Length Posted - 159mm.
This rather lovely silver and black lined celluloid Conway Stewart model 27 is in excellent condition. The barrel and cap are nice and glossy with no noticeable blemishes, and no chips or cracks. The gold plated trim is similarly bright with just a little discolouration to the shoulder of the p[ocket clip and to the cap top tassie. The cap has a black painted aluminium conical end "jewel" with a gold plated bezel, wide cap band, and long straight pocket clip. The clip has the "CS" logo at the top within a diamond shaped cartouche and another diamond at the bottom. The barrel imprint is crisp and clear. It is fitted with a short gold filled filling lever with a diamond and "CS" logo imprinted within the circular end tab. The glossy black section holds the super large sized Conway Stewart No. 5 nib, which is 14 carat gold and in a medium point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib writes very smoothly with a good wet medium width line. It is a soft nib and will provide for some understated but still attractive line width variation as you write.
The model 27 was a more upmarket pen, and this one is still in lovely condition.
