CS1112 Conway Stewart No. 14 (Soft Medium)
CS1112 Conway Stewart No. 14 (Soft Medium)
Date: c1950s
Size: Capped - 127mm, posted - 157mm.
A nice jet black casein Conway 14 in excellent condition. It has a lovely glossy appearance with just a little plating wear to the shoulder of the pocket clip being the only damage I can see on it. TBoth cap and barrel are free from any noticeable scratches or other damage. The black conical ended cap top button holds on the gold plated "CS" monogrammed pocket clip. This one has the diamond-shaped end. This is an earlier, bandless, capped pen. The filling lever is also gold plated and has the "CS" monogram within a diamond imprinted onto the circular end tab. The barrel imprint is quite faint, but complete. The nib is a Conway Stewart No. 1A in a very sweet medium point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth and writes with a very nice wet and consistent medium width line. This is a soft nib, and will provide a tiny bit of line width variation as you write. With a little effort, it is easily capable of varying the line width between a fine and a medium width.
Would make a great everyday writer.
