ON140 De La Rue Junior. (Soft Broad Stub)

This lovely smaller sized post-war De La Rue pen is in nice condition.  The barrel and cap are made from glossy burgundy and black marbled celluloid.  It has no splits, cracks or chips and the only damage that I could see is the plating wear and brassing to the top of the pocket clip and the cap top tassie.   The pocket clip is gold filled, has the Onoto stamp to the shoulder, with some very nice relief detailing down the top part of the stem.  The cap has a conical ended black "jewel" surrounded by the pocket clip bezel.  There is a single narrow band at the cap lip.  The barrel end is rounded and in a solid black colour.  The filling lever is also gold filled, and also unmarked.  The main barrel imprint is excellent - crisp and deep and rather large.  The section is in black hard rubber.  The nib is a very nice little Thomas De La Rue Warranted 14ct nib with a very unusual broad stub point. 

I have fully serviced this pen.  The nib is very smooth and has just a little softness softness.  It has a pleasant springy action and the stub cut of the nib combine to produce some very attractive and effortless line width variation from a fine to a good solid broad.
