PA3571 Parker 51 Aerometric. (Medium-Fine)
Date: c1950s
Size: Capped - 139mm; posted - 154mm.
This 1950s burgundy coloured Parker 51 is in excellent condition. If I look closely with a loupe I can just make out some very fine surface scratches to the body of the cap, but that is something you almost always get with one of these pens if it has been used much at all. There are no splits, cracks, chips and no noticeable scratches to either cap or barrel. The cap body exhibits the lovely delicate frosting that you'd expect to see on these Parker 51 pens. The grey cap top jewel is clear with no chips or cracks. Around the cap lip is the imprint, showing just "PARKER". The cap has a chrome plated pocket clip. The barrel and hood are still glossy with no noticeable scratches or any other damage and in the English version of the burgundy colour - a slightly lighter shade than that produced in the U. S. The lovely 14 carat gold hooded nib is in a medium point. Unscrewing the barrel, the Aerometric filler is made from polished stainless steel and unmarked by damage. The original pliglass ink sac is still fitted and is still in perfectly serviceable condition, and unusually, still exhibits a little of its original transparency.
I have fully serviced this pen. The medium point nib feels very smooth on paper, and writes with a very pleasing wet and consistent line medium-fine width line.
