PA3583 Parker Lady Duofold, Streamlined. (Soft Generous Medium Stub)
Date: c1930s
Size: Capped - 116mm; posted - 144mm.
A classic Parker Duofold with the "streamlined" cap top shape of the early 1930s. This Lady Duofold is made from glossy black Permanite with black hard rubber cap top button and barrel end blind cap. It is in excellent condition. I really can't see any damage on this very attractive little pen.
The cap has a "streamlined" black top button that has a gold filled boss that anchors the chatelaine ring. Near the cap lip are three gold filled bands. The barrel, like the cap, is lovely and glossy with no noticeable scratches or other damage. At the end is a blind cap that unscrews to reveal the original brass filling button. The button fill mechanism is all present and correct and works perfectly. The pen is fitted with its original and "correct" feed, and the original Parker Duofold nib too. The imprint to the side of the barrel is quite faint, and a little worn to the centre. Both pen and nib were made in Canada. This is a 14ct gold nib with a rather unusual medium width stub point.
I have fully serviced this pen. It fills well and writes very smoothly as most of the early Duofolds do. The nib is soft and as it is also a stub nib it will produce some very attractive line width variation from a fine to a good broad width.
