PA3607 Parker 51 Aerometric Mk. II, boxed. (Medium)
Date: c1972
Size: Length Capped - 137mm; Length Posted - 156mm.
A later Mk. II Parker 51 Aerometric from probably around 1971 or 1972. This pen is in excellent condition. The barrel and hood are glossy and there are no noticeable scratches or other damage. The cap has the lovely delicate frosting that Parker was so good at, and in this case, there are no visible scratches of marks in the frosting. The grey top jewel is clear with no chips or cracks. As this is the later style Parker 51, the barrel has a flattened end and the clutch ring is narrow. The lovely 14 carat gold hooded nib is undamaged and is in a medium point. Unscrewing the barrel, the Aerometric filler is made from brushed stainless steel and unmarked by damage. Again, this is the later style without the black end piece. The original pliglass ink sac is still fitted and is still in perfectly serviceable condition. The box is a typical early 1970s Parker presentation box. It is a hard-shell case with the criss-cross decoration to the outside and a blue rating pad and white satin lid lining. It is in very good condition too, with just some ink staining to the lid.
I have fully serviced this pen. I did just dip the nib to get the writing sample below. The nib is very smooth and writes with a lovely wet and consistent line.
