A rather unusual Parker 17 Deluxe fountain pen in glossy burgundy, with the chrome plated metal cap and gold plated pocket clip. Even more unusual is that the pen was made in Denmark. This pen is in very good condition. I can see the usual tiny micro-scratches to the cap, but nothing you will notice without using a loupe. There is some very minor colour fading to the barrel - the part that is not usually covered by the cap. The Deluxe version of the Parker 17 was a late mid-60s addition to the range, and very short-lived, so there are few of them around now. The bright chrome plated cap is decorated with vertical incised lines, It has a burgundy conical ended top button, and a gold plated Parker arrow pocket clip. There was also a version of the Deluxe with a chrome plated clip, but I have always preferred the gold version, as the contrast in colours is quite striking. Around the base of the cap is a "PARKER" imprint. The glossy and scratch-free barrel unscrews to reveal the Aerometric filling mechanism. All is nice and clean and the original Pliglass ink sac shows the usual internal ink staining. The 14ct gold hooded nib is in a fine point. There is an imprint to the side of the barrel that includes "MID" - Made in Denmark.
I have fully serviced this pen. The Pliglass ink sac is still in great condition and probably will be for another 50 years! The nib writes very well with a smooth, wet and fine width line.
An unusual pen, only the second 17 Deluxe fountain pen I have had in well over 20 years and it is a Danish one to boot!
