This is a nice wartime Speedline filler Vacumatic Junior, date coded on the barrel to 1941. This is a very attractive blue and black striated Permanite Vacumatic Junior with the single gold filled cap band. It is in excellent, glossy and as far as I can see, undamaged condition. The jewels on both ends of the pen are glossy black. The cap jewel holds on the Parker split arrow pocket clip. This is a Speedline Vacumatic - these were not produced for a long period and are quite unsommon today. Unscrewing the barrel end blind cap, the aluminium plunger is still in excellent condition, as is the rest of the Vacumatic mechanism. Holding the barrel up to the light, you can see that it does not have a lot of transparency in the forward part of the barrel. This is probably due to internal ink staining. The factory imprint is nice and clear, showing no more than normal wear for a pen of this age. The nib is a lovely 14 carat gold Parker Vacumatic. Like the rest of the pen, it was made in the USA.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth. It writes beautifully with a lovely wet line with a good consistent ink flow and a nice fine width line.
