This Parker 45 Flighter fountain pen and ballpoint is in lovely condition and looks to me like it has hardly been used.  I can find no damage on either piece, and in the box, there is the original instruction sheet / guarantee that is dated to 1974.

Fountain Pen

This is the original shape for the Flighter pen with the elongated black barrel end.  It has a chrome plated pocket clip cap top tassie and jewel, and cap clutch ring.  The nibs on these earlier pens were all 14ct gold, and this one is no exception.  It is in a somewhat unusual broad point.  The barrel unscrews to allow the filling of the pen, and I am pleased to say that it still has its original Parker "fat" squeeze-bar ink converter.  You can also, of course, use the pen with Parker ink cartridges.  The imprint is around the cap lip , reading "PARKER 45" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" with the Parker arrow and halo mark above the latter. 

Pencil

The pencil also has a chrome plated arrow pocket clip and chrome plated cap top tassie.  The cap pulls off to reveal and apparently unused pink eraser.  It is a propel-repel pencil that works by twisting the cap.  I have fitted a fresh 0.9mm lead into the mechanism so it is all ready to go.   

Box

The presentation case is the usual 1960s/1970s paperboard box with the criss-cross patter on the outside.  Inisde, the pad is made from grey satin.  It. too, is in very good order with just a small ink mark to the corner of the lid.

I have fully serviced this set.  The pen fills easily and writes with a very smooth and wet broad width line.  The pencil works perfectly.
