A very pretty deep India Black coloured Parker 51 set.  Both pieces are in very good condition with no damage at all that I can see, save for those ever-present wispy marks you get in the cap frosting, and some very minor surface wear that you would get from any careful use.  The caps have no dings and the delicate frosting is still all there.  Both barrels are nice and glossy.  Both caps have a clear grey top jewel with a chrome plated short arrow Parker pocket clip.  The cap lips are polished in contrast with the frosted cap bodies.

Fountain Pen

The barrel unscrews to reveal the Aerometric filler which is all nice and clean with no discolouration.  The original pliglass ink sac is still installed and has just the usual internal ink staining.  The hooded nib is in a medium point and made from 14 carat gold.  

Pencil

This is a twist-type propel-expel pencil that works by twisting the cap.  It too is in lovely condition.  The cap pulls off - below the cap is the original eraser holder with a mostly used pink eraser still in it.  

Box

The original box is a very nice leather covered and brass bound hard shell presentation case. It is a little worn on the outside and has a lot of ink stains inside on the pink silk lining.  The spring that keeps the lid closed is also no longer working.  

I have fully serviced this set.  The nib writes very smoothly, just how you would expect and hope a Parker 51 to write.  It works very well and produces a wet and consistent medium width line.

A very nice 1950s Parker 51 set.
