SW825 Swan Self-Filler No. 3320. (Soft Medium).

A glossy and extremely dark blue celluloid Swan.  This pen is in very good condition.  Apart from the colour fading to the gripping section I really can't find anything on this pen damage-wise.  There are no cracks, chips or splits to either cap or barrel.   I can see no noticeable surface scratches either.  The trim is all gold filled and still in lovely bright and shiny condition.  The colour of this pen appears at first glance to be black, but hold it up to the light and you can see that it is actually a very dark and deep blue colour.  The cap has a rounded end.  The pocket clip has a ball at the bottom and the Swan logo imprinted at the shoulder.  Below this are three narrow cap bands, also gold filled.   The main barrel imprint is in excellent condition - deep and crisp.  The filling lever is typically long and narrow with the small circular end tab that is something of a signature feature of Mabie Todd levers.  The cap undscrews to reveal the hard rubber gripping section which shows some typical colour fading.  A nice feature on this pen is the brass barrel threads.  The nib is a Swan No. 3, made from 14 carat gold, and has a medium width point.    

I have fully serviced this pen.  The nib is very smooth when writing.  It produces a very nice wet and medium width line too.  It is a soft nib and will manage some attractive if understated line width variation as you write.
