SW830 Fyne Poynt Gold Filled Pencil
SW830 Fyne Poynt Gold Filled Pencil
Date: c1920s
Size: Length - 95mm.
A fantastic and early stirrup-top gold filled Fyne Poynt pencil, made in the U. S. probably in the early 1920s or possibly even the late 1910s. It is in very good condition - all the gold fill on the pencil is bright and shiny, and the only damage on it are a few very tiny dings, mainly to the point just forward of the barrel. This does not mar the appearance of the pencil. The barrel is decorated in alternatinb machine-engraved panels of a chevron and barleycorn pattern pattern with polished bands between. The index to the side of the barrel has the initials I. J. A. H. engraved. At the top of the pencil is a small crown that you twist to extend the 1.18mm lead. This is an extend-retract pencil. The imprint is on the crown and identifies the pencil as being made in the U. S. The stirrup is attached to the barrel and pivots on two small pins. It retains its original chatelaine/watch chain ring.
I have fully serviced this pencil and it works perfectly.
An rather scarce stirrup pencil
