WE557 Wahl-Eversharp Gold Filled and Hard Rubber Pencil.

A lovely small Wahl-Eversharp pencil.  This is a very unusual and good-looking pencil not withstanding the small amount of damage on it which is limited to some minor discolouration to the steel point.  The barrel is, very unusually, made from orange hard rubber, and it has that lovely soft sheen that you only seem to get with this material.  The top knob is twisted to extend the lead - it is a propel-only pencil.  There is a clear imprint on a gold filled collar at the top of the barrel.  This pencil has a boss at the top of the crown with a chatelaine/watch chain ring attached. The crown can be twisted to extend the 1.18mm lead.  The point is gold filled, and the very end is made from steel.  

I have fully serviced this pencil.  It is a propel-only pencil and I have fitted a fresh 1.18mm lead into the mechanism.   It works perfectly.

A very cute pencil and also rather unusual and a change from the more common all-metal pencils.
