YA087 Yard-O-Led Universal Pencil, Platinine.

A beautiful  Yard-O-Led rhodium plated (Platinine) pencil in excellent condition.  With a loupe (and in the close-up photos below), I can see some very fine and wispy scratches to the polished parts of the barrel and point, but these are all-but unnoticeable without using magnification.  The barrel is beautifully chased with a checkerboard arrangement of barleycorn  and polished panels.  The barrel end knob unscrews and pulls right out.  There is a milled knob beneath that can also be unscrewed for access to the spare lead hopper.  There are still a couple of spare leads in here.  The crown is twisted to extend and retract the 1.1mm lead.  It is imprinted "PLATININE" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" and also has a patent number stamped on it.  The scroll-ended pocket clip is held on by two rivets at the top and has "Yard-O-Led" imprinted down the shaft.  This is a propel-repel pencil that works by twisting the end knob.  It works smoothly.
