An impressive and glossy Swan Leverless pen with a large and superb Swan No. 4 nib.  This pen is in the unusual extremely dark blue colour - in some lights it looks black, but in good natural light you can see that it is indeed blue.   It is in excellent condition, with a little plating wear to the central cap band being the only damage that I can spot.  This is one of those post-war torpedo shaped Swans.  Both the barrel end and cap top taper quite sharply to a point.  The cap is fitted with a gold filled Swan pocket clip with the Swan logo imprinted at the shoulder, a ridged stem and a ball at the bottom.  There are three gold filled cap bands - a wider band flanked by two narrow ones.  The barrel has a good sharp imprint and a blind cap that is twisted to fill the pen.  The nib is a nice large Swan No. 4 made from 14 carat gold and in a fine point.  I have installed a new pressure bar into this pen, and as a result, the filling kob is a little bit stiff.  This should ease in time as the pen is used.  

I have fully serviced this pen.  It writes with a very smooth action.  It lays down an excellent wet line.   The nib is a large No. 4 size, and does have some softness, giving a time bit of line width variation as you write.
