BU151 Burnham Pencil
BU151 Burnham Pencil
Date: c1950s
Size: Length - 118mm.
This is a rather attractive shorter Burnham pencil in green and bronze marbled casein. It is in very good condition and the only damage I can see on it is the gold plating that has thinned on the pocket clip and a little bit discoloured on the cap band. This is very common with these pencils as the plating even when new was little more than a gold wash. There no noticeable surface scratches or other damage, and the pencil has a good glossy appearance. The cap has a domed black top button that holds on the Burnham imprinted pocket clip. There is a single gold plated band mid-barrel. The point too is gold plated. This is a propel-repel pencil that works by twisting the cone. I have fitted a fresh 1.18mm pencil lead into the mechanism so it is all ready to go . If you unscrew the domed black top there is a lead storage area beneath.
I have fully serviced this pencil. It works perfectly.
