PA3590 Parker 95 Lacque Thuya Fountain Pen and Ballpoint Set, boxed. (Medium)
Date: c1993
Size: Capped - 133mm; posted - 147mm.
A very nice pen set finished in the loverly Thuya Lacque. Both item have a little surface wear, with the majority being on the ballpoint, though they both still have a good glossy appearance with no loss of lacquer noticed. The caps have a stepped gold plated top button with a black lacquered insert on the flat end. The pocket clips, also gold plated, have a very long "flight" and a short stem with the usual Parker arrow point terminal. The imprints are around the cap lip, in a contrasting coloured lacquer and they read - "PARKER", "FRANCE", "IIA" for the ballpoint and "PARKER", "FRANCE", "IIL" for the fountain pen.
Fountain Pen
The cap pulls off to reveal the semi-hooded, almost tubular nib that is peculiar to this model. It is a gold plated nib in a medium point. The frosted section unscrews from the barrel. This pen is fitted with its original piston-style Parker ink converter. You can also use it with standard Parker ink cartridges. The barrel end has a similar black lacquered disc as can be found on the cap top.
Ballpoint
The point is gold plated. This is a retractable ballpoint pen that works by twisting the cap. I have fitted a new black refill in the pen and it is working perfectly.
Box
The original and rather unusual red flocked presentation case has a brass bound base and the Parker logo inside the lid. Also inside is an instruction sheet for the ballpoint pen. The loop that would have originally restrained the pen in the box has come away at one end.
I have fully serviced this set. The pen writes very well with a nice wet and consistent medium width line. The ballpoint works perfectly.
I don't often get any Parker 95 pens and this is the first set that I have been able to offer for sale.
