I see very few Parker 51 ballpoints, and this is the first one with the Custom cap that I have been able to offer for sale with a matching pencil, no less.  Both items are in excellent condition with no real damage - some very minor surface wear to the barrels that I need a loupe to see is the only damage I can see on this set.  Both pen and pencil were made in the UK and in the teal blue colour.  The caps ate shiny and ding free with nice crisp vertical line decoration. 

Ballpoint

It is not an early example, having the barrel threads in the same lucite as the barrel is made from.  I would say early to mid-1960s.  It is fitted with a modern Parker ballpoint refill in blue that is working perfectly.  You can get a huge range of different refill types to fit it including gel, rollerball, fine liner, etc.  

Pencil

This is a propel-repel pencil that works by twisting the cap.  The cap will also pull off to reveal the broken stub of the original pink eraser.  I have fitted a fresh 0.9mm lead in the mechanism and it is all ready to go.  

Box

A paperboard Parker box with criss-cross decoration outer and grey satin pad inside.  The box has seen better days; the corners of the lid have split and the pad has age marks to it.  There is also ballpoint scribbling inside the lid.  

I have fully serviced this set.  Both pen and pencil work perfectly.
